New Site – More Info & Feedback

So, where to start… Obviously I have a new site & it’s come not long after the previous redesign, that happens. I’ll be blogging here about crap that interests me, work I do, maybe games, photography stuff like that. I’ll even be sharing some of my work on a design wall eventually, not dissimilar to my photo wall but err with design stuff not photos, yeah? Got it? Cool.

I’ve built this site which I’m dubbing v5 (in all honesty I have no idea what version it is but it’s about the fifth one to make it online so lets just go with that) in HTML5. The main reason for that was to learn & see for myself how it could be used in the here & now, not when it is finalised in 2024. I’ve still got a way to go with it, I need to get my pages validating & I have possibly misunderstood some parts of the spec so if you’re all clued up on it & you spot something let me know. This is also my first play with @font-face, which I like a lot. Errmm what else? Hmm I didn’t build this site to be compatible with IE6, I’m not supporting a browser that is older than me & I don’t care what you say, it’s all the current browsers we are going for, even IE7 I guess.

Anyway, thanks for taking an interest, I’d love to hear what you think (good & bad) so leave me some feedback below.

Late to the partry as usual, I’d just like to express how very much I like this new design. It’s a massive win, and in particular I really like the way custom header bylines and colours set off certain pages. Keeps things fresh and interesting. Ditto what Phil said. If you let this new blog fizzle out I’ll hurt you (ps. i know where you live)

I also like the extremely well written little jQuery plugin you have running on the comment form. I can only assume that whoever you had write this for you has a gigantic penis.

i really love this photo-site. crisp, clean and beautiful looking.
Still there´s something wrong with the cookies I guess. Your page seems to set a cookie every few seconds but does not delete / update the old one. Is this something you wanted to achive?

Really awesome stuff man! I really like fifty of fifty site too. I added it to my home screen on the iphone and the icon looks amazing. If you dont mind my asking, how’d you get the icon to show up without the glare?

Leonel, if you set the icon with a rel of ‘apple-touch-icon-precomposed” then the iPhone wont add any effects to it. Hope that helps.
