Been a little while since I had all my lights out for a play, been craving it today — so I convinced Sarah to let me shoot her in the face. POW!
You can see it on my flickr too… if you’re into that sort of thing.
My lights TOTALLY looked like this:

Super Bonus Alternative Shot

I shot this one with my Canon 135mm F/2.0L, ditched the ringflash and upped the power on the softbox to a 1/4th.

Rick, how are you adjusting the power on the flashes? I have the same flash but don’t have very much control?

Which flash are we talking about? The 430ex or the 580ex? They are both really adjustable, are you setting them to manual power or leaving them on ETTL? If you set them to manual you can set them from 1/1 power down to 1/64th and the 580ex goes down to 1/128th power.

Thanks Rick, I have the 430ex, I haven’t got to grips with the flash until. I will switch to manual and have a play. Lots of learning on your blog which is great.
