Been a little while since I had all my lights out for a play, been craving it today — so I convinced Sarah to let me shoot her in the face. POW!

You can see it on my flickr too… if you’re into that sort of thing.

Behind The Scenes

Because I know you guys love these sorta shots.

Super Bonus Alternative Shot

I shot this one with my Canon 135mm F/2.0L, ditched the ringflash and upped the power on the softbox to a 1/4th.

  • Yay new rick nunn!

Really into your exposure and use of the environment here.

  • RIck’s back in action! Diggin the processing sir!

  • Lovely :)

  • Rick, how are you adjusting the power on the flashes? I have the same flash but don’t have very much control?

  • wow

  • So beautiful!

  • very cool, how you used that backlight!

  • Which flash are we talking about? The 430ex or the 580ex? They are both really adjustable, are you setting them to manual power or leaving them on ETTL? If you set them to manual you can set them from 1/1 power down to 1/64th and the 580ex goes down to 1/128th power.

  • Thanks Rick, I have the 430ex, I haven’t got to grips with the flash until. I will switch to manual and have a play. Lots of learning on your blog which is great.

  • Nice portrait man!

  • I love it!

  • Great portrait:)

  • fantastic portrait…
