Soviet Era Derelict Satellite Dishes

I’ve been waiting SO long to visit these massive derelict satellite dishes at RAF Stenigot in Lincolnshire. Finally we got over to see them, and I was NOT disappointed.

These dishes have been around since the Second World War and have been used as a long range early warning system and communications arrage. They were part of an early warning radar system called Chain Home too. The site was decommissioned in the 1980’s and the dishes have been sitting in this field since the base was demolished in the mid 90s.

Spadge & I did some photos, flew the DJI Spark around a little and recorded some epic b-roll. All to help me put theĀ BenQ SW271 through its paces.
