Adventures

To me there is so much aesthetic value in the places I go & the people I see. These are my attempts to document my adventures so I don’t forget them. This is my visual journal.

Woodhall Spa

To celebrate the birthday of Sarah-Jean the Second we ventured to Woodhall Spa (my childhood home) in search of woods, halls & spas. What we found was somewhat different… there was a lot of ice cream at the parlour, plenty of trees in the woods, Italian food at the tea house & Will Smith at the Kinema in the Woods! Worked out pretty good!

May Tattoo Times

Yesterday Spadge & I shot up to Leeds to see Sneaky Mitch at Inspirations Tattoo Studio. Spadge had an hour on her ribs, which she took like a champ, & I had another 4–5 hours on my sleeve.

26th May 2012

I think it’s safe to say that summer has properly hit in England now, on Saturday the girl & I went for wander with our cameras, got ice cream & layed in the sun. Not bad, not bad at all.

Lincoln Woods

Sparrow & I went into the woods because we like the woods and it wasn’t raining today. It was good. Still feels really autumnal and cold for this time of year — I’m okay with that.

Ozone Coffee Roasters

Just before I went to London last week my friend, Richard, mentioned that if I had time I should check out a recently opened New Zeland coffee roastery & cafe — Ozone. I’m glad I did, the space is amazing & the baristas were great. I started with a Flat White, then their version of Eggs Benedict & I fished with a filter coffee made on the V60. I can’t say a bad word about any of it.

Kenwick Woods Cabin Weekend — Film Edition

As well as my Canon 5D mkII, I also took my trusty Pentacon Six. The Six is an East German made medium format camera from the 60s(ish). I think I said it all on my last post with all my digital shots, so just enjoy the photos.

Kenwick Woods Cabin Weekend

This weekend Spadge & I headed over to Kwenwick woods for a weekend in a log cabin set in a 320 acre estate in the Lincolnshire Wolds. It was so good. Perfect weather, amazing food & amazing company. We did a few walks & a lot of relaxing. On Saturday night the snow started coming down, by the morning the woods felt more like the Scandinavian country side than the east cost of England. I took so many photos it was hard to decide which to upload, so you’ve got a boat load. If you manage to get all the way to the bottom of the post you’ve done well, but it should be worth it.

New Adventures In Web Design 2012

January 19th 2012 brought with it with the second New Adventures In Web Design conference. I attended with Ashley “I’m A Secret Lesbian” Baxter — always fun to hangout with her. Expectations were high after last years success but, for me, this year surpassed last years by a mile. I took a lot away from the day, not least that we work, live & play in one of the most exiting industries ever #fact!

Sherwood Forest

Sarah & I took the short trip over to Sherwood Forest last Sunday to play in the trees & have a picnic. It was awesome. The light couldn’t have been any more perfect. Check out the mass of photos in this post.

Flying Visit To Glasgow

This weekend I did a 600(ish) mile round trip up to Glasgow to see Ashley, I’d owed her a visit for a little while & finally managed to make time for the 5 hour drive north. The weather wasn’t kind to us, I’m not scared of a little rain but I think I spent more time soaked to the bone than dry… it messed up our plans a little but we still had a lot of fun (as per usual).
