AnyForty — Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook
I recently shot the new lookbook for the AnyForty Spring/Summer 2013 rage. This collection celebrates their fifth year of dropping sick designs — Blood, Sweat & 5 Years.
The brand has recently been setting up their first retail shop at Boxpark in Shoreditch. Boxpark is “the worlds first pop-up mall” & constructed of stripped and refitted shipping containers — that’s pretty cool. We shot the packshots inside the shop during the shop fit. Space in these containers is pretty tight but I made a two-light strobist setup work pretty well.
Once we’d nailed all the product shots we headed upstairs to one of the quiet seating areas for some lifestyle & detail shots. It was a pretty awesome spot with long wooden benches, wood flooring & wood-clad walls — the wooden tones helped me make a very cold day in March (-2°C) feel a little more summery. There were also some LED up-lighters which I mixed in with my strobes real nice.
Shooting a Spring/Summer lookbook while it’s snowing outside was pretty challenging/funny but I’m really stoked with how these shots came out.

The ever so fresh Another Example Owl.

Still love this graphic by Gavin Strange aka JamFactory from a few years back, freshened up with the red and black colours from this range — looks so fresh.

The boss man Al & I looking mean.

André Beato, the designer of the awesome Blood Sweat And 5 Years graphic, came by during the shoot. It was great to get a shot of him wearing his own work.

Design is in the details.

If you head over to AnyForty.com you can buy this whole range online! But better yet go visit them at their newly opened store at Boxpark.
For the photo-geeks reading this: I shoot it all on my Canon 5D MkII, all the packshots with my Canon 50mm F/1.4 & the lifestyle/detail shots with my Canon 70-200 F/2.8 IS. And all the shots used off camera flash, through a softbox or umbrella.
