Edinburgh in May
My girl and I love going on adventures, with her birthday approaching we wanted to plan a long weekend away somewhere new. We quickly settled on Edinburgh and began hunting through Airbnb for the perfect place to stay.
We found a spacious bohemian looking apartment minutes from Princes Street — we booked it immediately.
Spadge is much better with words than I am and sums up the apartment far better than I could. You should head to her blog and read her post.
Let us know what we missed on our visit, and what we should check out next time. Enjoy! x

These windows though…

Bacon is essential to happiness. Apartment owner, Stephen, stocked the fridge with bacon ready for our arrival.

I could have happily spent a week just in this apartment taking photos…

Edinburgh Zoo
Visiting this zoo has been on our list for a long time — It did not disappoint.
We saw some weird and wonderful animals, including this Rabbit Deer (Chinese Goral), some awesome Penguins, a couple of Sun Bears, a Bear-Cat (Binturong) and the UK's only Giant Pandas!
Oh and Dinosaurs…

The City
Edinburgh is stunning. With the gardens running through it's centre, the wide streets and multiple levels it's very easy to forget you're in such a large city. And even from the city centre you don't have to walk far to find views of the Scottish countryside.

Spadge took her latest addition to her 35mm camera collection with her — she tells me she doesn't have a problem but I'm not so sure…
Read all about how she got on with the Exa Ihagee Dresden on her blog.

Camera Obscura
If you go to Edinburgh do not miss this place. It's up by the castle and so much fun. It's basically 5 floors of mind fuck — but when you get to the top you're rewarded with panoramic views of… well basically the whole of Scotland.

Coffee
What adventure would be complete without good coffee… we made our way to two excellent coffee shops, Artisan Roast & Stag Espresso's pop up. Both recommended.

Thanks for an amazing windy weekend, Edinburgh. We will be back to explore you more soon. Xox
