Deer Hunters

Went deer hunting with my girl on Sunday. Except the shooting was done with a camera instead of a gun. It was so amazing! Managed to full on army crawl up to a heard, I must have been, at most, 2 meters away. They are seriously such awesome creatures. Even found the main stag (pictured above) who was HUGE! Seriously need to head back here in winter, it’d be even more magical!

I took these 2 last shots in exactly the same location, the first with my 14mm lens & second with my 135mm lens. Amazing how different the top shot feels with extra context compared to the shot below. I seriously love having both these lenses in my camera bag!

It must be a really nice experience :)

Rick, there is a problem with your RSS feed. I’m using Feedly (which is gathering data from Google Reader) and this post doesn’t contain any photos in RSS. You should fix it :)

  • Matrox, there isn’t a problem with my RSS feed, nothing needs fixing. I don’t post images to my feed by design. I want people to come to my site to engage with the content I am producing, I want to be in control of how my photos are presented. I would prefer people didn’t see my content generically reformatted and regurgitated. I could possibly include just the feature/header image in the feed… think that would be of benefit?

  • Matrox

Uh, I don’t know about this :) I think that at least one header image will be great.

  • Great pics Nick. Thanks for sharing on your blog.

  • Richard Demello, my name is Rick not Nick… what’s wrong with you?

  • This place looks awesome in heading to Leicester next week might have to stop in here. Nice pictures too ;)

  • Hi Rick! Good work man, bambi in real life! Colour grading is rad too! I’ve been following your past 50/50s for a while now, back when I was still in the UK (I think I discovered your work through a band called Capelle that I was helping out on keys for a while) Keep up the solid work! Rock n roll, Sven Kristian
