These are all my posts in chronological order. Have a scroll through my whole body of work if you want to just pick out the bits you like.
Went deer hunting with my girl on Sunday. Except the shooting was done with a camera instead of a gun. It was so amazing! Managed to full on army crawl up to a heard, I must have been, at most, 2 meters away. They are seriously such awesome creatures. Even found the main stag (pictured above) who was HUGE! Seriously need to head back here in winter, it’d be even more magical!
Last week I took Spadge to Whitby in North Yorkshire as a late, but well planned, birthday present. I think we managed to check off all the normal stuff to do in Whitby, long walks on the beach, fish & chips every night, loads of ice cream, trekked up all 199 steps to the abbey, checked out the amazingly(bad) Dracula exhibit, the list goes on…
WAY back in January 2011 I shot this image for my buddy John O’Nolan. It was to be used as the cover for his soon to be printed/published book ‘Designing Emotion’. However it was not the smoothest of endeavours for John, he describes his book writing process as “a terminal plague on the soul”. You can read the finer points of the process on John’s blog but the crux of it is that he will now be publishing his book himself, for free, online chapter by chapter at emotion.onolan.org! How cool is that! It was an awesome project to get involved with, & I even enjoyed the 10 hours of photoshopping I went thorough to complete the composite.
In May I did a shoot for independent UK streetwear brand Vapour Clothing. Working with brands like these guys is one of my favourite things to do. Vapour sent me a few items from their current range to shoot for a Summer lookbook. I shot in a city park in Lincoln at golden hour, of course shooting into the sun a whole bunch because I can’t get enough of that.
To celebrate the birthday of Sarah-Jean the Second we ventured to Woodhall Spa (my childhood home) in search of woods, halls & spas. What we found was somewhat different… there was a lot of ice cream at the parlour, plenty of trees in the woods, Italian food at the tea house & Will Smith at the Kinema in the Woods! Worked out pretty good!
At the start of April this year I got to shoot the new AnyForty Spring/Summer 2012 range dubbed “The Australian Invasion” featuring work from some of Australia’s best artists including Beastman, Dale & Ben Bigeni, Numskull, Ben Brown & more. I always love working with the AnyForty family when they put out any new products. We headed back up to London Fields, the same location we used for the ’11 Crewneck Lookbook shoot.
Yesterday Spadge & I shot up to Leeds to see Sneaky Mitch at Inspirations Tattoo Studio. Spadge had an hour on her ribs, which she took like a champ, & I had another 4–5 hours on my sleeve.
I think it’s safe to say that summer has properly hit in England now, on Saturday the girl & I went for wander with our cameras, got ice cream & layed in the sun. Not bad, not bad at all.
Seven Days of Self Day 07 — Motion: So you might be a little confused… there is no motion in the picture above or the one on flickr. This is because they are only a preview of the image you can see the motion in the image below. I’ve wanted to do a cinemagraph for a while & thought this would be a pretty good opportunity. Unsurprisingly they are quite tricky to produce as a self portrait. I am sure I’ll be doing some more of them though. Glad I’ve got through this project finished now normal service can resume (Read: Photos of coffee & other, more interesting, people).
Seven Days of Self Day 06 — Desire: de·sire — /dəˈzī(ə)r/ — A strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen. Yep I think that describes how I feel about coffee… Mmmmmm coffeeeeeeeeee…
